ABV Stroy is a 3D studio that has been operating in the 3D printing market since 2014. The company prints products for the aircraft, foundry, defense, and medical industries.
Client’s problem
A medical institution contacted the studio and ordered a model of a real hip joint. Surgeons needed the model to prepare for surgery and learn about the peculiarities of the afflicted organ beforehand. Thus, they needed some technology to reconstruct the joint with a high level of detail quickly.
Solving the client’s problem
The studio passed this order to Infomir 3D Printing. We printed the joint and delivered it to the client within five days. The model fully met the requirements: it was smooth, highly detailed, and not ragged.
Result
The printing material properties enabled us to drill the hip joint model and attach additional parts to it, e.g., metal plates. FDM printing doesn’t offer these features, as the product easily breaks or crumbles under mechanical load.
